I am in love with this company. From my heart I say this. I’ve gamed a long time and never have I come across a group of people who are so committed to their fans and followers and so interactive with the people who join them in their world. They built a community and they actively participate in it- I mean right there with you- sharing and chatting and making you feel like you belong. That kind of feeling is worth it’s weight in Platinum!
After buying a couple of the chapters at GenCon 2019, this product… a lore book for the world of Zyathe’ was released. It was the first chance to really get to see behind the curtains, to see what made this world different, to explore the history and the geography and the cosmology. It was presented in a truly relatable way too! So many, if not most, sections are introduced with a bit of a tale or an essay from the perspective of a character of that world. What I found was I enjoyed reading it through because it wasn’t a boring sourcebook. It was collection of tales with Lore and source material woven in. I could tell this book was written by people who loved to tell stories and share stories. Just like the first chapter/module/giant box of fun- the artwork was incredible. I don’t know how they do it, nor how they can afford it, but this company continues to put amazing art into their products. Characters are strong and vivid. The setting art brings things to life for you as a player and a GM. There is much that is familiar because it is D&D… but there is so much that is new and fresh… new life being breathed into old players… and a world that is contemporary and relatable… and accessible (because the creators are accessible to their fans as though they were truly friends and family) to a younger generation of roleplayers as well. A world that bridges a divide in our gaming community because the heart and the intent of the creators is shown in their efforts to make that a reality.
Maybe this review for a sourcebook wandered off topic- but Gooey Cube has become so much more to me than just a place to get new gaming products. Sure, they have something new and fresh… but what they really offer is a community where they want you to share your voice and share your love for the game and the passion for playing it and GMing it. They want you to fall back in love with it. They want you to try it for the first time. They want you to know they are right there, ready to help you, encourage you, and call you friend! I know… because they did it for me!

It’s not often with these kinds of books in a roleplaying setting that I would use the phrase “fun to read” but with the “Cyclopedia Zyathé it truly is fun to read. The material is written in a way that gives you all of the information you need without feeling dense or tiring. The world of Zyathé is made much richer by having this book and I can’t wait to find out more!

Is the title status with the chapters Weren’t enough. The folks Gooey Cube released the cycle Pedia Zyathica. This book has everything you need to flush out a whirl to run a game in. Gods, races, illustrations of locations, as well as descriptions of different lands that can be found within the world of Zyathe. With each turn of the page you can see how much details put into creating this product. Immersive story, lush colorful artwork, as well as descriptions of the different things that could be found in the world of Zyathe. Much like the chapters for the red star rising campaign this is a must have for anyone wishing to run a game or just to learn something about a new world. Do you not had a chance to check out any of this I strongly suggest you get a chance to do so. Look for it online check out some of the arts it’s available.

Where to start? First, there is an absolute treasure trove of lore here. I’m constantly finding something new to focus on with each read through. And yet, one; nay, not even two books could possibly contain everything there is to know or everything I want to know about the world of Zyathe’. I understand that so much more is in the works, but it can’t possibly arrive quickly enough; even with player content being added through the Contributors Guild on Discord. If you’re interested to see a homebrew monster, beloved npc or interesting local/shop of yours in print; contact a moderator or CON worker for an invitation. There is so much more to come that is made specifically for Zyathe’ : more cultures and races, animals/monsters/plants from innocuously cute to terrifyingly deadly, NPCs both virtuous and vile, and magical items and spells enough to boggle the mind. Believe me when I say how difficult it is to wait for the next entry to the Lore of this poor, devastated world. Will you seek to rebuild it, conquer it, or destroy it? Yet, beyond all of this; if you so choose, you’ll find the best possible bunch of people whom with to play or collaborate. JimH – drmhawk

The cyclopaedia is everything you need to know to get started on a campaign in the Wy’rded World. All the races, gods, lands and stats are there for the player and GM to consume. The artwork is second to none. This is a must have for anyone who wants to play and get sticky.

I am Dutch, I am sorry for any typos below.
Before GooeyCube I was not even a GM, I always was a player, I tried to be but could never get into it.
But after reading the first chapter called “The darkest Dream” I was hooked.
That one chapter did what any other campaign I played or read could not, to get me interested in GM’ing.
After I read it first chapter I wanted to know more, soak in more of this amazing world, so I bought this.
And let me tell you, it will blow you away, it is unfathomable how much work must have gone into all the text, all the small little details and all the amazing artwork.
You can really see the love that went into each page.
It was fun to read from the first page to the last that gives you a more top perspective of the world, how it worked, the people, the what and how’s and how it came to be and how it became what it is today.
It is definitely not needed to play the campaign but in my opinion it definitely well worth the money for how it adds to it and makes you more feel and act in the world for what it is, a wonderous but dangerous place that makes you wonder what the future holds for it.
I cannot wait for the more in-depth volumes that are coming next.

This is a really excellent world book. If you’re the kind of GM that prefers to write their own stories, this provides you with a full foundation to work off of. It gives an overview of every part of a DnD setting, from the creation myth and history, a massive and detailed pantheon of gods gods, races old and new, the continents and countries of the world, and even some cool new magical systems like Flowstones and the Blood Touch. Clearly a ton of time and love have been poured into building up this world. It also serves as a fantastic supplement to the Red Star Rising modules that Gooey Cube makes, which are set in this world. Reading the Cyclopaedia has helped me make Zyathe really feel alive and complete when I run the modules for my players.

The Wy’rded World known as Zyathe is a beast that only a collaborative community of eccentric creative geniuses could surmise.
Seriously, Gooey Cube’s collaborative business model allows writers, artists, and game masters to come together and create a world with nooks, crannies, mysteries, monsters, gods, NPCs, continents, islands, dungeons, and stories that defy the imagination! No singular person could create such a diverse and infinitely playable world.
This first Cyclopedia is only an exciting beginning to rich, informative, and playable content available from Gooey Cube. Really, even if you only pick up this book, you would be armed with a rich overview of a world you could immediately slap your party into.
I have been playing 5e for 6 years, and Zyathe has become one of my favorite places to adventure.
Buy this. Just do it.

The Cyclopaedia Zyathica everything you need to build your own campaign in a massive, compelling and unique universe. I am planning to run a game in this world once my crew finishes The Red Star Rising. Also this is a great companion to the aforementioned campaign. I’ve loved using this to learn more about pieces of the world mentioned throughout and my players loved using it to fill out their backstories.

The Wy’rded world draws you in with the rich detail, immersive descriptions, and interesting changes that bring their own Gooey spin on the creatures that have normally simply been copied by so many. The writing, the paper, the artwork, and the maps are all top quality. Some of the best money I have ever spent.

As a dungeon master one of the best feelings is to know what your world has. The cyclopedia is broken down with hints and stories of history, why things are the way they are, the races, continents and more.
As a professional dungeon master this fixes many problems and allows me to bring a focused, indepth story without worrying about the world. This makes that so much easier.
On top of that, the artwork is second to none. It takes a lot to take my breathe away but the amazing works of art are absolutely stunning.
I look forward to more materials and stories as they continue to grow…

This book is full of interesting things to read. It is my go to source of I sorta toon whenever I have a question or want to home brew in the Gooey world of Zyathé. The digital version acts as a very quick index during games too! I cannot suggest this book enough to everyone. Even if you haven’t bought the game chapters it would be a great addition to any DnD collection.

Is it wrong that I want to read this first before I read the first adventure when I have players waiting for me to start running the game? These Gooey peeps have done well to create an amazing world with much diversity from its people to its landscapes. When it comes to lore you can find no other game that does a better job of it.
