Suddenly, the back of the wagon ahead of him loomed out of the fog, and Daro only just managed to haul back on the reins in time. Muffled curses sounded up and down the line, but most were abruptly cut short. Daro looked around, expecting they’d finally run into the ambush, but the figures that began to emerge were far from the raiders he imagined. They shambled forward, covered head to toe in hideous growths.
